ok i think this is most liekly coming from the skunk2 intake manifold for the h22.
its a humming noise which keeps my revs up a little bit and it will eventually go away and usually the humming starts when i slow down or clutch in and im rolling to the red light or something...anybody know what this could be?

 

clogged pcv valve?

 

I blocked the passage, it is the top port on the throttle body to let air in on cold start, skunk2 did not drill the hole right

 

what did you block it with?
and can you show me a pic please?

 

ok this sound is definately coming from the air filter.....the closer i get the the filter...the louder it gets.....anybody know what it is?

 

man, i have the same thing, it only does it every once and a while.. i dont kno what it is tho.. maybe the hose clamp is loose? and its making like a lil noise??

 

do you have a skunk2 intake manifold too?
my CAI is a little crooked...could that be it?
the s2 IM makes it hard to put the CAI on....maybe it messes up the flow which creates the noise?

 

oh yeah....even when i take off the intake and its not connected to the TB....it still makes the noise...hmmmm?

 

hmmm, iono, i still have the stock IM on, and mine makes the noise too. i was thinkin it was my bypass valve, but i havent tried to take off my intake yet, and see if it makes the noise. ill have to do that

hahaha, then that cudnt be ur problem... that narrows it down a lil bit... imma try to take my intake off, and see if it still does it

 

well i was reading the skunk2 intake manifold thread and it looks like someone else figured out what made the sound and it was because the iac wasnt connected to the right spot....so is the iac and iacv the same thing or 2 different things?
also where is this on the skunk2 manifold?

IAC and IACV are the same thing, Idle Air Control Valve.. and that is your problem.. its eirther dirty, or you need a new one..

 

if its dirty, it would make the annoying humming noise? do you have a picture of what the iacv looks like?
