Acceleration Problem
car accelerates to 4k rpms when i start her up. its a automatic. makeing a clunk'ing sound around the pistons also (dont think this is part of the problem). any suggestions?? thx in advance
edit: its not the throttle cable it works fine. no rust

What exactly does this mean? the tach goes to 4k? while idling the car pulls until it hits 4K? We need a lot more info to help. BTW, a clunking noise by the piston sounds like a knocking rod, which would be a huge problem.

acceleration at ilde. dont worrie about the noise could be a bent rod from the mass acceleration from the engine. not much to get in detail. car somtimes works and doesnt.
edit: it simply rev's around 4k's then i shut her off. not going to drive it atm.
