Help: Annoying Buzzing Speaker Noise
Setup:
4 Ch Amp - For 4 Speakers
2 Ch Amp - For Sub.
Problem:
I was listening to music pretty loud, hit the 'Equalizer' button by mistake and my amp couldnt take it i guess and began making funky frequency noises. A week later, i find out its my 4 channel amp only making the really loud and annoying buzz through the speakers. This doesnt sound like a typical bad ground loopback. Whats weird is that when the key is in the 'ACC' position it doesnt buzz, but when i open the switch, it begins to buzz and i can also hear the fuel pump prime through the speakers.
TIA

yup, you might have a bad ground, i had this problem

ok so im the friend, this is driving us nuts. but heres the scenario.
I wired it the first time everthing ran great he had the problem and the whole **** hit the fan.
So i highly doubt its the ground loop also because i rechecked the ground and it seems fine both amps running to one ground point. what bettter way is there? besided it was working fine for months. and nothing changed.
I rechecked the rca cables, they should be fine. even redid a few ends plugs. and they are running on opposite ends from the 12v cable.
I even tried running the rear speaker RCA's to the 2 channel amp that works the sub. to test the speakers but still there was that buzz.
important note. (reiderated) the buzz only is present when the switch is full on. and not ACC (when its half way). when it half on it sounds fine. seems like interference from something.
anyone who can solve this is the shizznit.

What kind of equipment and what exactly was done to create this problem?
How long has this stuff been installed and is the remote turn on lead coming from the radio or another source.

I was listening to it one day (pretty loud) was changing the eq setting and hit like a mega bass setting. once I did, i think what happened was that it clipped somehow. and then the whole radio started doing some funky ****. the bass went out and the speaker got wierd interference type noise. I turned it on and off then the bass stayed on constant like a BRRRRRRR. just loud no thumping and the speaker didnt play. after a day or two I tried it again and it worked but the buzzing was there.
Hope that explains the scenerio a bit more.

It sounds like you have blown a ground tracer on a PC board, probably in the HU.
You say, if you plug the RCAs into the sub amp you still have the "buzzzz", [now on the sub] Q, how many RCA cables are there?
Have you tried plugging the sub RCAs into the 4ch?
As others have asked what HU and what amps.
If I understand you the noise is there with the key in the ign. position, but not when in the acc. position, does that mean ign. on but motor not running.
