Default lose shifter(clutch maybe?) need some help

jsut bought a another civic but the shifter feels wierd. It will go into gear and stay in gear but when its in gear its all lose and feels as if its in nutral. a buddy told me he thought it was a bad clutch i have no idea....any help or info would be great thanks alot

check the shifter busings.

also check the pin that connects the linkage to the tranny. I had a little bit of slop in that connection and it made my shifter move about an inch or so left or right in any gear.

SOMETIMES it depends on what kind of shifter u have, on my Si my shifter moves alot and i just put a clutch in and it does the same thing, try checkin all pins and bolts around the shifter itself. to me it doesnt bother me that much

your shift linkage may have play in it. i know mine sure does. the only way to fix it is to get linkage.
