My 97 Civic Hatch has broken headlight tabs and I don't want to deal with them.

I saw these on ebay. How stock do they look. Anyone have them?

anyone know a good place to get a set of nice fitting stock or close to stock headlights?

i've always had good luck with my aftermarket headlights. on my 99 coupe i bought some "jdm style headlights". looked exactly like CTR's except it didn't have citylights, no leaks, perfect fitment, overall great headlight.

on my 96 hatch i got some "black chrome jdm style" and its the same. everything's fine. looks great no leaks or anything. AND i guess they sent me the wrong ones or something cause mine came with city light sockets. and for $90 shipped you can't really beat that price.

 

Get oem.

If you want CTR, you can open up the oem lights and paint the housing. $20 tops for paint, sandpaper, and other ****.

 

Here's my experience. I bought some black housing ones off Ebay a number of years ago. At first glance they look awesome. However, when I went to put them on the car they didn't line up correctly. I had only one bolt mounted on one side. I tried bending it but it wouldn't work. After about a year or so the paint on the inside started bubbling from the heat. The lights would also fog up from time to time. Finally, I got some new OEM ones and cleared them out myself and painted the insides black. Looked a lot better.

 

well- I decided to say screw it to the non-oem looking headlights. I bought one passenger side OEM headlight and my drivers side is good enough so its a keeper for now.

 

I had some TYCs and they were great. I now have some Depos, and they're great too. No leaking no anything.

 

I got mine locally from Autofit, Its like the online Certifit, 80 bucks for both. Look great.

 

Bought my CTR "style" headlights from Nopi, good friends with their best rep and I love them. Not too expensive either. No leaks or any problems with them.

 

i have those lights. They dont look gaudy but they clearly arent stock. They dont leak and i like them. One of the tabs broke in shipping but other than that they are great.

 

i have eagle eyes black housing head lights. this is my third set and theyre great. look nice and the adjustability of the beams is same as stock and no leaks and very clear.

you say it like its "easy" sorry but not AS EASY as you think so, sorry to break it to ya. You'll save tons of cash but have fun taking out all the other glue gunks from stock, then good luck sealing it to where there will be no leaks! Time Patients, and not to mention try not to fukk up! i have been working with mines for 1 month, lens doent fit housing like OEM like. Wasted 3 bottles of silicon already and still not done. Have you done it before?? If you have and been successful then talk, if not dont suggest it!!

ANYWAY to poster, just stick with OEM, I took out the amber pastic housing on my lights and they look sweet because I still have that amber strip, hint: so i wont get pulled over! havent yet, for 2 yrs now!

Yes, this is so true.

 

Make sure they have DOT and SAE markings, normally if they do, fitment souldnt be an issue. Im running JDM black housed replicas and they fit perfectly

I did it on my 99. resealed them on the first time. no leaks. guess you're not doing something right, because I resealed both headlights using one tube of silicone.
