Default Spugen or Invidia exhaust?

Im interested in both exhausts, just wanted to know if there is anyone out there who has tried both or got a friend with one and you've got the other, just wanting pro's & con's. Is the Invidia too loud as a daily driver? will I lose my hearing by 40

Im leaning towards the invidia as it looks and sounds so nice, but unsure of idling sound and wether it will **** of my neighbours too much when arriving late at night.

Although the Spugen seems more s2000 orientated and looks a nice smart replacement.

Im a bit of a hooligan at heart so wanting the invidia but the loudness factor everyone talks about is putting me off

Please share your wisdom with me

a couple of guys that i autocross with have the invidia, and it is pretty loud when they are on the course......

they also say that it drones on the hwy.....

i myself have been considering the spugen single.....

1. because it is a single.... and makes a little power
2. because of the weight savings.....

are you looking to make any more power, or just more sound?

a single is going to make more power.......

do you have any other mods?

Just wanted to get a feeling on how spugen was rated, noone has one over here in the UK, when I say the name people laugh (the whole spoon/mugen thing)

I would like to keep the dual look, although I know only a little power if any can be made with this.

I basically want: Sound, Weight saving(even if its minimal), looks, power (even if its minimal), would the spugen give me all that?

Oh and just one other thing are the invidia and spugen definitely stainless steel?

I have an AEM CAI to install and a spoon test pipe

The Spugen does come with removable silencers.

The Spugen dual oval isn't as loud but has avery nice sound to it. The Spugen dual round are almost as loud as the Invidia.

I personally say go with the Spugen.

WOW spugen seems to be a very popular brand, even thou its about $200 more than the invidia.

Can any gains be made from just replacing the original mufflers? I remember reading the start of an aussie article saying to leave the air intake alone and swap the original mufflers out for less restrictive ones, he made a 27% gain on the s2000 but then you had to pay to read the rest, anyone able to post up the rest of this? If they know the article im meaning.

I think the piping on the s2000's stock exhaust is about 2.75, im just kind of confused why I should pay for an aftermarket exhaust that is 2.5inch wide piping? Other than the sexy VTEC noise of course

27% gain? Like, 240 to 300 hp?

Damn - I have a whole catback. Im probably making like 380 flywheel hp now

Gains on replacing will be minimal, if any.

You'll be lucky to see 4 - 6 hp difference on any exhaust you purchase...

Here is my Invidia.

I like the exhaust, but I had a Spugen Single Titanium before. To be honest, I miss the Spugen and will be purchasing another single exhaust in the future. For now, the Invidia sounds good and looks good. It does drone a decent amount though.

Hmm your mufflers sit a bit higher than mine. Gotta go play with the hangers I guess.

Eat me.

Although the drone is much better then my Spugen. That droned from idle to 9k. But, it sounded great.

Sorry I kind of made out that changing the exhaust would give 27% increase but the guy did some other tweeks althoguh he still said they were minor. Its a aussie article, if I find the link i'll post it up. You had to pay to rewad the full article thou.

Has anyone tried just changing the stock mufflers out for less restrictive ones? Good results? I notice almost a recirculating pipe on the stock mufflers.

So the spugen drones more? If the drone is less on the Invidia I think I shall go with one of these as the price and look is more tempting. Is it fairly quiet on idle? i.e. would it **** off neighbours say when warming your car up in the winter before going to work?

Thanks

27% increase for a F20 is impossible without FI or increase in displacement. Just thought you should know to keep you from sounding silly/ignorant

My Spugen did. I'm not sure about the Spugen duals though. My V1 Titanium droned from idle to redline.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I also bought some new hangers from pep boys. They were a little bit smaller and I think they pulled the mufflers up a bit. The left still hangs slight lower and it's a pain in the *** when you notice it.
