Weird redline.
My friend has a 98 prelude vtec. Its bone stock for the most part. Only has intake and a SH tranny. He is able to rev it to over 8 grand.. Now I kno theres no reason cuz it wont make power that high.. but my friend has a older prelude 93 VTEC and he can only get up to 7 till it bounces off rev limiter. Why is this.. I mean u can feel power die off before 8g but why is it able to rev soo high on stock ecu and everything?
interesting, where is the rev limiter exactly on a 4th gen H22...
a couple of times in my 93 prelude i have definately seen above 7000RPM
due to missing a gear at the track ??
i have never expierced "bouncing off the limiter" in my prelude and it has since 8000rpm (by mistake) ... stock ecu, at least i think ... bought the car with 40k almost 6 years ago and it was completely stock at the time

I believe 7400 is stock redline. I have a chipped p28 on my ecu, and I'll shift around 7600 or so at the track (my tach is off too, so 7600 is really about 8200-8300 on the stock tach).

this is different in each car, some are dead on, some are farther off than others. A good way to get an idea is to watch the tach during vtec crossover. My tach is at 5500 when vtec hits (at 5200), so its 300 off there, and by the time I get to 7600, its 700 off.
