going to a junkyard.. How to Identify 85-87 CRX aluminum drums?

I'm going to some junkyards tomorrow to look for several things including the rear drums from an 85-87 CRX HF. From what I hear these are a direct swap for the heavier drums on my 89CRXsi. Is there any way to easily indentify these drums? I'd hate to buy some crappy aftermarket ones by accident.
Also has anyone been able to purchase these remanufactured ? I checked autozone and all they have are new "Duralast" drums for $22. Am I right to assume these won't be lightweight like the OEM parts?

Here is the low down on aluminum rear drums.
They are SUPER easy to identify, they are finned, the iron ones are smooth. You should only find they on the HF models, but I forget which years. They are a direct replacement for the 2nd gen drums, I know because I have them on my 88 HF. Also they weigh about 3lbs less EACH (if I remember correctly). Also, when using them be sure to torque your wheels on (as you always should) becuase there is a greater chance of warpage than with iron. I've had NO problems with them overheating or warping, even during an auto-x or road race, aluminum does transfer heat much faster than iron, and since I keep the mounting surfaces nice and clean, it should transfer into the wheels (also aluminum) very easily.
I think I remember seeing a set at my local P'N'P, let me know if you're interested and I'll grab them for you.

can anyone confirm this?? A few days ago someone on this forum specifically recommended these drums for Auto-x due to the lighter weight.

Ya, no warpage yet, done 50-60 laps at thunder hill, no issues at all. Fine at auto-x too.

One more thing. When you first install them, you will hear a metal-on-metal sound as you drive. This happens because the lip on the 1988-1991 backing plate digs somewhat into the groove on the drum. But this is not a problem. It goes away after a while (when it finally 'wears in'). And you will have no problems after that. I have been running aluminum drums for several years now with no problems whatsoever.

If you go into AUTOZONE asking for 1988 Honda CRX HF 1.5L Rear drums they will give you Front disks for a Chevy Impala.
Then you'll say "are you sure these are right?"
and they'll be like "that's what the computer says."

haha oops all I was stated is what I have heard. Maybe it was using the 87 Prelude Master Cylinder.

youd have to be blind not to be able to distinguish these. and then even a blind person could feel the distinct fins.

they fit fine on any EF with drums. no modification necessary except the backing plate and lip has very little clearance as noted above.

ive heard they are very similar, but theres a slight difference, which will still work fine once modified. but yeah, the only way youre going to get these new is buying as an Insight replacement part. thats pretty pricey tho. napaonline has the drums listed. try giving them a call if youre dead set on getting some new ones.
i must say tho, theres no real appreciable benefit with these. yes, its lighter. but whetever... i dont need lectures on unsprung weight and moments of inertia. its just novelty factor, nothing more. i picked mine up from the junkyard for $25 and just think they go well with my wheels...

I called all the junkyards within an hour or two and no one had the rear drums. I know it may not be a HUGE difference, but my current drums are 5321354321 years old and could stand to be replaced anyway.
Anyone have any spares laying around??
Or know where I can get them? (other than napa. they're $85.00 each

youre drums are 523452521 old, and you want to replace them with a set of aluminum drums that are even older that are coming out of a junkyard, mostly been used for more miles than your current ones? yeah... that makes sense...
good point. that doesnt make a lot of sense. Guess I should have mentioned that I would be rebuilding them if I bought them from a junkyard. But seeing as how I can't seem to find any, I may just be rebuilding my crappy old iron ones.
