Default Tightening the hatch

The hatch in my CR-X is loose and rattles. I think it's the cable, so I need to know how to tighten it. There's a screw under a cover piece on the latch. Is that the right one? I tried tightening it a bit, but I dunno if it did anything. Anyone know for sure how to fix this?

Hum, try tighening the latch its self and the other mounting hardware. can you hear it loud from the inside. Could be the wiper.

Can't you turn the hatch struts by hand to tighten/loosen?

it's usually not the cable, its the contact points worn. the two tricks i know of are to remove the spacer under the metal u-hook if there is one there, or to coat the u-hook with electrical tape.
