Since I am going to be getting a new motor, I was thiking of buying the fully built B20/VTEC from importbuilders.com. They claim 225 hp to the wheel before turbo. It even comes with a mugen chip for a 9500 rev limit. Costs 8000 shipped. Does this sound good?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Jeff`s a good guy. I`m hosting a dyno day at his shop on the 24th if you `d like to come down and check it out. We have the super santa ana carne for the bbq

hehe kool.......its like a 5 hour drive from where i live, but i might be in the area within 2 weeks to visit some friends.
I think I can afford that engine. I am getting lots of insurance money back from my totaled 2001 GSR. Im hoping at least 19,000. Then I am going to buy a 94 ls for real cheap and get Importbuilders Hydro CRV/VTEC Dominator swap. =D

There is a turbo and na version of the crate motor you speak of. The NA version will not have 225 prior to adding boost.

its expensive, but I am going to have plenty of insurance money for that and a turbo kit, if I can find a reallly cheap integra. Damn big downgrade from my beautiful 2001 gsr. Oh well.....this one is gonna be a lot faster. +d
yeah...
With 19,000 dollars, i would buy a shitbox $1000 EG, gut it down the bare metal, and build a new car from scratch. Take out the motor, interior, etc and get a roll cage welded in, then take the whole thing to get completely sprayed with new panels all around so that it's as clean as possible. Install those stock replacement lexan windows in the hatch and back panels. Install Integra TypeR suspension. With everything, the brakes, wheels etc. Get some nice coilovers like GAB revo's to drop it.
Then add some cosmetic stuff, cf hood, cf lip, cf wing, vision corners, jdm headlights, etc...put the interior back in (if you want.
), install some racing seats in the front, and you gotta a bad-*** chassis that will weight like 2200lbs for a CX and is ready to accept it's new motor.
You'll still have like $11,000 left over to make the sickest turbo motor you can think of. Sleeve a GSR block to 84mm, build it with pistons and rods, get a full dpr race head, a custom SFP race manifold, massive turbo, air-to-water intercooler, c&f radiator, custom exhaust and downpipe, STR intake manifold with a huge thottlebody, and speedpro. Get it all tuned. It's not impossible to make 500hp with proper parts selection and tuning..
That's 135-140mph trap speed possibilities. 450hp in a 2200lb car that looks pimp as ****!! Talk about speed and looks / $$$ ratio!
EDIT: I just lived out my hybrid dream thru you, sorry. :D
I gotta go clean my pants now...

Jeff is a great guy and he is doing the work on 1 of 2 motors for our project car. One of the motos will be a turbo motor he is building which is a 2000 GSR Engine. The other engine which is a 2000 b18c5 is still undecided, I don't know what we are going to do with it yet. I am currently talking to Jeff about a buildup for that motor as well. You will see great numbers with our GSR Turbo Engine. I'll post the dyno in about a month or so and we will have a Full Feature of ImportBuilders on our site.

LOL Maxboost......nice visions. And yea for the money, i could build a very fast car. But I am an integra guy, and cannot see myself in a civic.
A quote from Import Builders is that their engines last and last. Since they guarantee that the engines won't blow up, they must be awfully good.
importbuilder do great work but do you really think 8000 is worth it, you can get a gsr bottom end and boost it like crazy and get about the same output as a crvtec in boost.or go with a ls/vtec and save yourself some money
