D2 Coilover Install Pix on CRX...massive foolery inside (56k..mebe)

The old set up - H&R race with stock shocks
The new set up - D2 Coilovers with standard rates (9F/7R)

'course we all know, lowering a car is rocket science -- buaha, me n my bro acting all pro

I just couldn't help myself

Here's a shot of the front done

The rears completed

...and under the hood

I went for a quick test run after installing these, and I must say I'm really impressed with the ride quality. The dampening adjustability doesn't seem to affect the ride very much (and I can understand why they hate on these so much in the suspension forum) but I still appreciate the improved ride quality.
One large complaint about D2 coilovers has always been the excessive noise in the fronts. Doing some research, I realized that the only cars that experienced this problem were (a) Mac Strut equipped, (b) had the D2 Pillowball mount, (c) those that did not have all suspension components properly bolted down, (d) had a rubber spring seat component wear away prematurely (which is a manufacturing error on D2's part).
Trolling around on an RSX forum where apparently these coilovers are popular, I found that many of the users there had coated the top rubber spring seat with white lithium grease to help with longevity. Following suit, I undid the bottom spring perchs, lubed up the contact point with the WL grease, and finally, reset the preload.
Of course, I didn't test drive the car without first applying these measures, so who knows if it made a difference at all. All I know is that they ride great, I experience zero extra clunks or sounds, and the install was relatively a pita.
Wish I had some pix of the car as it sits now, but its raining. Lets hope it clears up today!

I agree adjustability is slim. I have only had them set on medium, full soft, and full hard. You can feel a different from full soft to full hard. I got it on full hard now and damn u feel every lil bump in the road. But on the streets it handles about as good as you will ever need, if not more.
