99 accord v6 running issue (wont start)....
The problem I am having is when it try to start the car it just cranks and cranks like its not getting any gas. When the problem first started it would happen once every 3 to 5 days but when I would turn the key to on and let it sit for a few it would eventually start and run fine after that. But the gas level would fluctuate on the gauge sometimes when I started it after that. This doesnt happen all the time usually after it starts up it will run fine for a few days and then do this again. Now its happening every day or if it starts up and I put it in reverse it will cut off on me.
Has anyone else experienced this or happens to know what it might be. Im thinking a faulty fuel pump or the fuel filter is clogged. There is no check engine light on just the maintenance light is on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car is stuck at my office right now , and I want to order the parts for it so I can get it back on the road.

check your battery. Our the Accord V6's have faulty and weak alternators and your's just might be going on you. I would say check your battery first. I just had the same problem yesterday and my car wouldnt start at all.
Did yours turn over though. Mine will turn over and just crank and crank and crank like either one of the key components is missing (fuel\spark). Just curious if a faulty alternator would do this. My battery holds charge even at night with the lights on it still stays at the constant voltage level.

Does the immobilizer light flash? Does it have spark?

Did you just replace your battery or mess with the connections. I am going to try it again when I leave. If I can get it home then I will have access to test everything.
i highly doubt it would be the battery since the battery's toughest job is a cold crank, thus they are rated in cold cranking amps. I drive an EF and on our cars this somtimes happens when a main relay blows, this usually happens on days with excessive heat. The main relay supplies power to the fuel pump(no fuel pump = no start)
Also does your key immobilizer light stay on?

It is possible it is the main relay also, but I was under the impression that the newer generations did not have such a problem with this like the older ones.
When you turn your key like you are about to start it, right before you actually crank it do you hear the fuel pump prime? You know that robotic winding sound it makes? Listen for that before you crank. If you do not hear it then you need to change the fuel pump for sure.

For sure huh? No possibility at all of a bad fuse?

This sounds exactly like mine. Never had a problem in the morning with it starting. Its only when its really hot out side it has this problem. But when I come back at the end of the day when I am getting off it will start right up. So would you say its a relay I need to replace and if so what one?
My car was doing the same thing. Im pretty sure its just your battery. How many miles do you have on your accord and has it been changed yet?
I found out it was mine when I came home after work and started it once and it started up. This was also right after running around paying bills on a hot day. I then turned it off to start it up again and it wouldnt. I could hear the winding noise from the pump before crank and everything. I then had my cousin pull up and we connected the battery for a jump and it came right on.
Just try the battery first before you do anything else thats gonna cost money.

A battery is not exactly what you call cheap!!!
IT IS NOT THE BATTERY IF YOU HAVE A STRONG CRANK, if you dont belive me they can test your battery at any auto parts store for free.
try multimetering the fuel pump, if its got no power then the main relay has gone bad, if it is getting power it is most likely your fuel pump

Wal-mart $50 plus $7 core. I dont think thats bad.
I had a strong crank on my car too. Im just saying dont get so technical when it could just be the battery.

My car is having the exact same problem. 99 6cyl. It is heat related but I dont think its the fuel pump. When my car wouldnt start I pulled the spark plug and I was getting gas into the cylender, as well as a spark. My problem is that it only happens every 4 or 5 days when its hot, so its hard to diagnose. I know its not the battery because its new and getting a solid crank on the starter.

Use a multimeter and check to see if it is getting power, etc.
