Default y1 cable tranny, oem lsd installed. speedo help

the speedo teeth on the dif are finer that the other cable ones so the speedo gear will not go into the tranny, will a type r one work so i can at least wire it to the ecu or a different gauge cluster? or does anyone know where i can order the right cable one?

match the speed sensor gear to the lsd ring gear. i mean, use the original y1 ring gear if you use the original speed sensor, and a type-r VSS if you are using the type-r lsd with its ring gear.

ok the tranny is a cable b16 tranny. y1 non lsd, installed was a lsd from a cable jdm b16a tranny. the splines on the dif's are different from one another the non lsd is spaced farther apart, where can i get the jdm lsd one? or does the type r electric one have the same spacing as mine?

i am guessing that you got a type-r lsd, because the only final drive that is higher than a b16 tranny's are the type-r's. b16 tranny's are 4.40 and the type-r's are 4.785
you could swap the ring gear off the open (non-lsd) diff or get the type-r VSS.
so the VSS you have doesn't work with the lsd? or you just don't want to try it?

Running in a ef I presume?
If so, you can keep the cable vss and use the one for the d16a6.

First of all the Y1's are one of the JDM b16 cable trans with LSD. I just rebuilt mine. If you use a USDM B16 Cable driven VSS then you can use the stock crx speedo cable!!

i dont think anyone understands, i had a non lsd t1 tranny i put in a lsd from the jdm tranny the splines on the speedo gear on the differential are closer together then the usdm ones, which means i cannot use my old cable driven speedo or any other usdm where the hell can i get a jdm piece of **** one or any company like the other guy was saying about the kaaz or somthing?

So your saying you have a non LSD y1 trans, and you have installed the LSD off another Y1 with LSD?? If this is correct there is no difference between anything spline wise, you just need to get the original VSS for the Y1!! Here are the gear ratios for each Y1 trans!!

Y1 w/LSD JDM B16A SiR I
1st 3.166 2nd 2.052 3rd 1.416 4th 1.103 5th 0.870 Rev 3.000 FD 4.266

Y1 without LSD JDM B16A SiR
1st 3.166 2nd 2.052 3rd 1.416 4th 1.103 5th 0.870 Rev 3.000 FD 4.266

H motors or password JDM as well as Noyans USA should all be able to help you find the correct one!! You do not want the electric unless you have converted your speedo!! Any questions just ask!!

your confusing!! Do you need the speedometer? Or do you need the Y1 VSS? What do you need??

On another note I have the Y1 with LSD and I am using my USDM B16 VSS and speedo cable!! I threw the stock JDM VSS in the trash!!

If you read the post right before your last post it states the Password JDM, H Motors, and Noyans USA will be able to help you out with what you need!!

not sure but thanks the info helps bro, when i had it apart i held them together and they are clearly closer together where the gear meets the dif. by closer together i mean the lines that line up with the gear.

i know my Y1 LSD trans has a 4.32 final drive. the YS1, S1, and J1 have either a 4.40 or 4.44 final drive. i think you may be able to use a GSR VSS which i have for sale. if you can confirm it i will sell it to you.
