PLEASE help with my new 5th GEN camshafts
Hi,
I posted before although my question was never really answered.
I bought stage 2 OBX cams. These have the EXACT same specs as skunk2 stage 2 camshafts: (in. 0.505,270; ex. 0.465,275)
After installing the cams I noticed a LOSS of low end HP. the high end was just about the same. I also installed AEM ADJUSTABLE CAM GEARS although left the at stcok settings(0,0)
My freind bough similar cams, crower, and once they were installed his car ran like ***. He called a tech line and the informed him that he MUST have adjustable cam gears and told him what they should be set at.
I suspect that this is part of my problem although when I called around NO-ONE would give me any info do to liability issues. I understand that my best bet would bring my car (and my money) to a dyno although that is not an option right now.
PLEASE, I know there are tons of individuals out there who have replaced both their cams and cam gears.
- Has anyone else run into this problem?
- If so what was done about it?
- Is there any techline that will give a straight answer?
- Would anyone recomend adjusting degree by degree and "see what happens"?
~thanks~

You just need to go get the car tuned now. Moreso that just the cam gears...a real tuner with a dyno and experience.
