anybody in here ride on stock/oem shocks with a stiff spring rate such as h&r race, Ground Control... etc. and how many inches does it drop. how long have you been running them like that or how long did your shocks last. i appreciate it. thanks.
i have tenzo r springs on stock strut on my eg( been on for 5000miles)
2.25inch drop front and back
the ride is just like stock springs. only thing i dont like about it is my rear is lower then my front.
but after i did my b16 swap the front is a little bit lower now

there's controversy towards stiffer springs needing aftermarket shocks/struts. i contacted a main manufacture that holds prestige amongst honda/acura etc... enthusiast and they even told me it will ride like ****, but you're stocks will not blow; they'll just feel like they are. but plenty of suspension forum people say otherwise. i don't know if it's just hearsay, or have they actually done it. you all ride on stocks, so i'm assuming it's alright.

Are you saying idriveadelsol7 scammed you?

Your stock shocks will wear out quicker with a higer rate than stock, but putting sitff springs on a stock shock that does not lower the car too much will not automatically kill your shocks.
of course it will be OKAY
riding on blown struts is OKAY
go ahead and lower the car on stock struts. your car will LOOK cooler (mainly while parked cause if i see a lowered car going down the road i know if its got stock or aftermarket struts on it just by the way it bounces).
but you will see no performance gains and your car will be bouncy as hell.

i have been runnin ractive coilovers on my sol with oem struts for almost a year now but they are startin to go bad cause my car is slammed almost as low as it will go. with a full body kit it sits 1 7/8" from the ground in the rear and 2 7/8" in the front. I am gonna invest in new struts soon...
I went for over 5 years & 50k miles lowered 3" on ground control 400f/250r and never blew out my OEM shocks. It was mostly smooth freeway driving, and I did drive very carefully though. The car wasn't even bouncy, and I had a lot of fun in that time. I recently pulled the OEM shocks & put in Koni Yellows and my stockers were still in very good shape. I'm currently wondering what to do with them...
