subs not working
ok my subs just stoped working and i looked in the back and my cap isn't tured on and my sub isn't getting any power. a few days ago i was checking out my system and my cap was displaying some odd numbers.
i was just wondering if my cap is dead will it not give any power to my amp?

A dead cap will not keep the amp from working, unless the cap is shorting out, and it has blown the main fuse up by the batt. Have you checked it? To check for power you will need a multimeter, DVM or at least a test light, also have you checked the ground for the amp, the amp ground and the cap ground should be grounded at the same place, [someplace on the floor pan, like a seatbelt bolt] check all the power and ground connections. You need to test and see if you have power at the amp on the power wire and the trigger, [control/turn on] lead, are you sure the amp is not turning on? Have you tested the subs? Try this, disconnect the subs speaker wires from the amp, touch the the speaker wires to the pos. (+) and neg. (-) term. of a batt., [ up to a 9V] the subs will "pop", [ pop out if the pos. speaker wire is touched to the pos. batt. term. and the neg. to the batt. neg. term, and pop in if you touch the wires the other way around on the batt.
