all motor b16 build
can i make good power on a stock b16 bottom end? i have skunk 2 stage 1 cams, skunk 2 cam gears ,skunk 2 intake mani, bbk 70mm throttle body, aem short ram intake, msd sci ignition with blaster 2 coil, dc 4 to 1 header, thermal mandrel bent exhaust, str power fuel rail and a holley fuel pressure regulator. i chiopped my own pr3 ecu with a ebay chip also. what should my next mod be to make more power on my DAILY DRIVEN motor. obd1 conversion? springs and retainers? bigger cams? i already have a y1 tranny with lsd and act clutch, would a lightweight flywheel help also? any ideas welcome. mainly a daily driver with a little auto cross and some street racing and drag racing also. thanks
70mm throttle body might be to big im not really sure but maybe a type r one would be better....also i would not chip the ecu with an ebay chip i would just get hondata and get it tuned....i would upgrade springs, valves, retainers so you can rev those cams you have....should see good #s
well i think 65mm tb would give you better power....70=to much flow for so little mods from what i have heard anyway but honda-tech is always wrong...but the key is to get it tuned so def. do the obd1 first...upgrade the valvetrain unless you want to ruin you head like i did check out my post search for OMG i blew up my del sol...i made it 2 weeks ago...

thanks man, i believe the omni springs and retainers and a obd1 conversion will be next on the list. i can get those in a few months im sure ( i got bills ya know ) after that i might go to a stage 2 cam possibly. maybe a little nitrous also run by the hondata system. but one thing i will mos def remember is ' baby steps ' i gotta get one thing before i jump into another. we'll see haw it goes. any other opinions?
