I have a '89 civic LX, and I want to do a swap... a d16z6. I got the motor and tranny for free from my brother. He put h22 in his '94, so I scored. The problem is that the synchros are screwed up, he said first, second and maybe third.... what tranny should I get? I want a five speed... probably a cable tranny. The car right now is an automatic, and I want to convert it to manual... should I go hydro or cable? I need something, something nice but cheap. Maybe a '90 si tranny or something. What should I go with?

 

Staying cable is the easiest..Get a dx or si trans..Stay away from the hf and std trannys..
