dropped flywheel cover bolt into tranny?
Engine: D16Y7
Is it possible? I was done bolting up the tranny to the engine. When I was trying to put on the flywheel bolt, it slipped through my fingers and slipped into a hole closeby.
It's on the tranny side and I can only hope it didn't go into the tranny, or else I'd have to redo everything again.
Anyone had done this before?

theres no open space where the flywheel cover goes at to let the bolt go inside the internal of the tranny
get a flashlight or some kind of a light and look around the the flywheel open space to see where it went

This is true, you want to make 100% sure of that so you don't severely damage anything.

You can also use a snake with a claw on the end or a magnet to help get it out. Id use the claw because the magnet will propably be to hard to manuver. Also take off the flywheel inspection plate if its alrady bolted on and look there. Dont start the car or move it untill you find it.
It could also have fallen behind something and not into a hole if you dident 100% see it go in there. If you cant find it tho I would take the tranny off unless you have an for lack of whats it propably called "Inspection Snake?" which is a camera with a light on it at the end of a snake like piece you can get it into places you could never see with a mirror. There not cheap so most places dont even have them in there shops either I do cause I happen to find one on ebay for cheap.

I just replaced my tranny and the 10 mm bolt at the front of the car fell into an opening just behind where it should bolt. There is a molded piece that sits beneath (I think) the cover that you can drop by unbolting and that's where the bolt was hanging out.

Thats the flywheel inspection cover I mentioned earlier
hopefully its sitting right there that would be the hopefully the easiest to get out. If you cant get it past the flywheel you can at least see it to grab it with the claw tool I mentioned earlier too.

I used a little mirror and big light and saw that the bolt was actually sitting in that little cavity near the cover.
I'm glad I have fingers small enough to snag it out
Thanks again guys!
