Sand paper (what grit to to use??)
I have already searched and i keep getting many different responses.
I'm trying to get my car ready to be painted. I want to do the body work and all the prepping myself then take it somewhere to get sprayed. Now my question is this, since the car got re-painted last year what sand paper grit do i need to get the layer of paint off? Also what other grit will i need? I heard that its not neccessary to go all the way to the metal, just to the original paint, is this true? Lastly i need to know what else i need to do to the car before i take it to the paint palce. I know i need to take off the tails, headlights, tape the parts i dont want painted, etc..., but what else do i need to do.
Thanks in Advance..

Hey man I used to work for a body shop... here is what you need
to get ready to paint, sand the whole body you will want to use 600 grit, make sure to sand with your hand with water making your hand closed fingers, make sure to get it really good cause this is what makes your paint stick and then take a grey scuff pad you can get at any auto-parts store and then go back over the whole car til the sand amrks look even. PM if you need any more answers on what to do..........Good Luck
