i bought a gsr rear swaybar for super cheap and i just read to do the install i need a list of parts from a 99-00 civic si. since i already have a 00 si, i can use all my parts of it right? endlinks and hardware and such right? my main question is what about the bushings? arent the gsr swaybar bushings way bigger? the bar i got is a lot bigger than my si bar. i havent measured it yet but i can tell by looking. if anyone has installed a gsr rear swaybar on their SI, please post up what you had to do to fit it on there please. thanks guys.

em1 bar is 13mm
If your bar is "a lot bigger" there is a chance that it is an itr or aftermarket one instead. What exactly is the size?

 

That's not a GSR bar if it's a "lot bigger" than your 13 mm Si bar. My guess is it's an ITR bar and I wouldn't recommend you run it without some sort of reinforcement. Actually, I would recommond that you don't run that bar at all - too many people have had problems with running such a fat swaybar on the Si.

 

ive tried to find teh specs for the gsr bar and i have read 14mm up to 20 something so i dont know. like i said i havent got to measure it yet.

 

You have an itr bar most likely. There's no noticeable difference between gsr and si sway bars.

Thats why you reinforce the subframe...

If you're up for some extra welding and DIY then that type of reinforement might suffice. But if you're referring to the band-aid fix in the form of the Beaks Kit I'd say don't bother. I've gone through this before so it's nothing new to me. I feel much better after getting some extra plates welded to the subframe and slapping on a Comptech unit. It's either Comptech or stock for me. I've also heard good things about the ASR kit but it hasn't been out for very long to be honest.

This **** isnt a bandaid. Its a solve.

If its "much larger" then its a usdm itr bar and you need 22mm bushings (thats 7/8" standard) (23mm for jdm).
You cannot use the em1 D brackets with this bar, or standard integra - both are too small. Just get prothane ones that include d-brackets.
If this ends up being an itr bar, you NEED to reinforce your subframe, because a bar this large will tear it.

that would depend entirely on what size the bar is. measure it, then buy the appropriate bushing.

For your sake I hope it's a good solution. I'm just saying the ASR unit hasn't been on the market very long so it's not tried & true like the Comptech unit. Although in the pic, it looks an awful lot like the Comptech unit in design and construction anyway so I'm pretty sure it'll hold up well. And c_mack9, you haven't exactly been paying attention - it's not a matter of "if" it's more a matter of "how" you should reinforce your subframe if you intend to run a bar as big as the ITR one. And if you have a 14 mm GSR bar then I'd say save your money coz it's only bigger than your stock Si bar by 1 mm so why bother?
