Default Mounting 16" rims to car question??

I picked up a set of 16" rota gt3's which are going on my 97 civic sedan.

I was told that i don't need hubcentric rings or spacers when mounting the rims to my car. Do i need those rings?? And can i still use my stock lugnuts??

thanx in advance

Hub rings will help with keeping your wheels centered, and feeling balanced. I've been driving on Konig 16x7 for about 6 years now, and I always had problems with the balance of the wheels. It seems they would be fine for a few months and then start to vibrate more & more. I would get them balanced and it would be fine, but then start up again. Just last winter, I bought some hubcentric rings (instead of going back for another balancing), and HOLLY ****, the vibration was gone. Now I only have the most slightest vibration at 80-83 mph which I feel is the true balance of the wheel. I was very sceptical about hubcentric rings, but I couldn't believe what a difference they made. It seems that jaring impacts on lugcentric wheels can cause the lugs to shift slightly since they aren't really attached to the hub (they are mearly squeezed into place by the lug nuts). This knocks the wheel to one side and causes vibration that over time can really build up. FOR $15 SHIPPED, YOU CANT GO WRONG...

As for the lug nuts, your supposed to use tappered lug nuts with aftermarket wheels. OEM lug nuts have a ball shaped seat, while aftermarket lugs (for rims) have a cone shaped seat. The cone shape helps to better center a lugcentric wheel on the hub (it's not perfect though). The other plus is that they almost always include wheel locks too.
