Default 02 Civic Grill Installation

I have a 02 Honda Civic 5-speed.

Projector/Halo Headlights/"Altezza" Tails/Tint/Muffler/etc.

And I want this grill

How do I 1. Take my factory grill out?
2. Install this grill.

You pour gas on your existing grill and then you light it with a match.... it will melt away the old grill so that the new one can be put in its place.....j/k

There should be a number of clips on the back.

Ok thanks for the info man.

I am a new Honda person. Had a 95 Stang, and a 99 Stang. But I found I needed something more reliable so.. uh I have a Honda now.

Hopefully I can learn a lot from Honda-Tech

Damn that sucks. But I have to have my headlights re-wired, because the owner before me (whoever put the headlights in) didn't do it right, and like only half the stuff works. And you have to take the bumper off to get to them, so I guess I'll just have it all done at once.

Umm. I installed the grill without taking the bumper off.

But my hood doesn't close right, so it has like a 1/2- 1 inch gap in between the grill and the hood.

How can I make my hood close correctly? Ever since I've had it, it hasn't closed right..

Arent there clips that go on the lower portion of the grill? Either your hood or bumper needs adjustment.

To put the grill on correctly, you have to remove the bumper.

what he said. ^ to adjust your hood, there are little rubber bump stops on the body. you can raise or lower the hood by screwing or unscrewing the bump stops. At least you could have it even.

you need a sedan radiator cover to attach to your grill (if you have a coupe) so you don't have that gap, if that's what you mean.

#2 in this pic:

i spent 13 bucks on it from honda

look ath the bumber on the inside of the headlights, the hood doesnt close evenly, my car is an 02 LX sedan, does the exact same thing thing. cept with stock grill it doesnt dip down and make it look even bigger.

//EDIT: Look at his first pics, the hood isnt even there to begin with... ( u can see it right off of the bumber on the inside of the headlights, bigger gap on right hand side )

Where can I get the sedan radiator cover?

I tried reinstalling my radiator cover behind the new grill, but it wouldn't fit.

Also, I still don't know how to make my hood close correctly.

yeah, you *should* get a sedan cover, it's different than the coupes. on a coupe, the stock H grill is connected to the cover by the H, unlike the sedans.

go to your honda parts dept, online, junkyard off a sedan like ^they said.

good luck with your hood.

if you look closely your hood had a gap with the stock grill also. so its not the grill but the hood itself.
