WANNA FREE AUTOCROSS TODAY AT CALI SPEEDWAY (SUNDAY)?
YES! You heard me right!
Myself and Sam are one of the guest drivers that have been hired by Jaguar corporate to help with their consumer hospitality event at California Speedway this weekend. There is a FREE AUTOCROSS set up in the big parking lot next to the go cart track, and guess what? WE provide the car! YES, your choice from a group of Jaguar XJ Sedans, or the Jaguar XK convertible- both 300 HP!!!!!!!!! (you may also be able to drive the X-type and S-type at the SECOND autocross corse set up in the infield. But you may need to buy a Vintage Racing ticket (race is being held here, I think $15. But hey $15 for this... sweet)
All you have to do is show up, show a drivers license, and wait in a short line and you get to do laps on the ~1 mile course!!!! And, yes, you can get back in line and DO IT AGAIN! Some people drove over and over- and its A-OK!
Are you allowed to drive fast? YES! Drive as fast as you want but DONT hit any cones, and traction control must stay ON.
FREE AUTOCROSS! WE PAY GAS!!! WE PAY TIRES!!! WE PROVIDE THE CAR!!! We even throw in a FREE HAT!!!
Today (SUNDAY 26th) is the LAST DAY to do this, so come out and see us.
Just thought I would share this with my fellow RR/AX guys- come on up, the public is welcome. Tell your friends and drive some bad *** cars.
More track time than youd get at a SOLO II, and you dont have to work any cones!!!
What to do:
1) Go to Cali Speedway (from 9-4 PM)
2) The Jaguar XJ and XK event is at Lot 12.
3) Sign credentials, and waivers at the white tent (it's obvious)
4) Stand in line, pick a car, and DRIVE!

When the first hried me to do this, I thought it was a Invite Only event. When I was there on Sat, i found out the public was welcome. The first thought I had was, I'll post it on HT as soon as I get back to the Hotel.
It was a lot of fun, and if I ever do something like this again- I'll let you guys know.
The Jags were fun to drive. The AX track was great (and long). We burned up those tires!!!
Also got to see the historic races- fun stuff! Original old F1 cars, indy, 60's camaros and mustangs, alfas, porsches- even LMP and de-commisioned NASCARs!
