Default ABS Plastic Strength

Hi, well im getting my car repainted at the moment and I purchased a ctr style front and rear lip in ABS from islandmotorsports.com. The problem im having latel is some people are saying how they break theirs. My question is, how weak is it really? I know its stronger than carbon fiber, right? Thanks in advance. Im just worried ill only have my lips for no more than a month, and I dont want that to happen lol.

i think there actually weaker than c/f, i broke mine on a small snow bank going around 20 mph. even one good scrap will break the front lip.

i have been trew 3 type r lips that were abs plastic for my teg.. in my opinion they hold up pretty good... only reason i have been trew 3 is cuz they would start to like miss a chunk out of the lip.. but if it got cracked then i would bondo it and paint it back up.. but the nexxt lip i am getting is a cf lip and i am going to fix my driveway so no scrapeage

well the OEM ITR lip is made from abs but it seems a better quality - anyhow just remeber what a new one will cost when your driving and you won't have an issue.

Ask your body shop about applying a softening / flex agent to it.

I'm not sure who makes the stuff but it works well.

Ah damn, I wish I knew that. Its too late, I think they painted the lips already. Ill just have to hope they got the idea and did it without me asking lol, although I highly doubt it haha. And im just a poor college student that is already in debt lol, I cant afford to crack lips lol
