Default 12:5 compression. Skunk Stage 2 or 3 cams?

I am building a LS/Vtec , with 12:5 compression. Do you think I should go with Skunk stage 2 or 3 cams? Which do you think I will be able to pull out more power from? Not necessairly just peak power, but a all around better power curve, that will result in a faster time

So you think the skunk2 pro 1's will make more power than the regular Stage 2 or 3's?

The pro 1's have greater lift on the non vtec lobe then the stg 2 and 3's but a slightly lower lift vtec lobe. All in all the pro 1's make alot more midrange and are a better street cam IMO.

no, pro1's are a street/strip cam, if your going all out drag strip or trying to get the best q/mile time then go with the 3's...... its been my experience that 8 out of 10 people on h-tech all motor forum have street cars and always recommend cams that make good midrange numbers instead of power from 7-9k which is more important at the strip, just my opinion, goodluck.

Pro1's or M22xx, unless this is just a drag motor that is going to run between 7500-9000. Skunk 3's make more power from 8200 rpm up, the others more below, up to 15 BHP.

Some Spock STG. 5's depending on the rest of your build. Avail from Rocket, skunk, RLZ, or me. Expensive though.

you'd be happy with skunk 2's... skunk 3's need more tuning.. skunk 2's idle pretty much stock .... so it is a great street cam...

S2S3's for dragging...you're gonna hopefully be in Vtec all the time, and the 3's make more power. Only go Pro1's or S2's if you plan to shift @ 6000 RPM's

Everyone is right Pro1's and do not use the specs that skunk recomends you want like a 101 int CL / 108 exh CL. they recomended 103 CL on both and it loses torque and power. they make awesome torque. the skunk 3's have too much duration in my opinion i feel that you loss some inlet charge out the exh because of the cyl head's steep pent roof design.
