Default Tuned the car last night!

So I went to the dyno last night and thankfully I did.
Last year in November I baselined at 182whp/126wtrq though that was on November 26th so it was cold out.

Last night I went to the dyno pulled a baseline of 175whp/121wtrq but I was running extremely lean at one point I was in the 17's for a/f

After my tuner played around with my VAFC2 and about 15 dyno runs he got the final numbers of 186.4whp/130.2wtrq.

The best part was that I gained midrange throughout the WHOLE RPM BAND i didn't lose anywhere minimum gain was 5whp and at 2 points in the rpm range I actually gained 20WHP vtec is set at 4400rpm that's where my motor likes it to make a nice smooth transition

I was very impressed and the car feels totally different WOW is all I have to say.

I will post a dyno sheet later today when I get home.

Let me tell you one thing though. TUNING is the best money I have EVER spent on my car.

mods are
AEM CAI
Hytech Header
2.5" mandrel bent Stainless Steel exhaust
no cat
2.5" magnaflow straight through muffler
AEM FPR
Kenji chipped p28 w/ OBD2-OBD1 harness

good numbers, just makes me more convinced and pushes me to get this motor done...so a 14.1 with those numbers previously huh? nice

The motor is a JDM ITR motor in a 1999 Integra GS-R.

The 14.1@99 was run before tuning so I will be getting new numbers soon. Car is a circuit car so I don't get to the dragstrip much.

I'm kinda new to the honda world but I try to read a ton, but is 4400 a pretty low vtec crossover? I thought like 5800 was a more normal number. I'm not sure, but are there certain things you have to do to lower vtec engagement without getting a huge bog out of it. I would love to be enlightened.

Thanks

4400 rpm is a pretty low vtec engagment point but every motor is different.

The idea is to tune so that there is no spike when vtec comes on. You want a smooth transition, when tuning a motor you will see where vtec likes to be set to accomplish this.

Here is the dyno graph hope this works:

Sorry if someone could resize that would be great don't know how to sorry.

As you can see I was running rediculously lean on the basline pull almost 17:1

Weird thing is that with this motor the more fuel we threw at it the better the numbers. Where as usually you make more power as you lean a bit. Needless to say my gas milage won't be great but oh well.

Thanx a bunch for the info! Im always tryin to learn. Your setup does seem to have a pretty smooth power/torque curve even at vtec engagement. Thanx again!
