stock allowances
in solo 2 stock class, are we allowed to use parts from the better model of the car we have if its in the same class? example: take a 89-91 civic(non si) which goes to HS and put a rear swaybar and a d16 and/or 5speed tranny from an si (also in HS.)
umm... I think you are... but the models have to be on the same line.. and you have to add EVERYTHING from the other model..
for example.. if there are two cars on the same line.. one has a sway bar and air conditioning and a 500lb tranny mount... you have add the sway bar, airconditioning, and 500lb tranny mount...
I THINK this is the case..... please correct me if I'm wrong...
this may be for Street Prepared.. I dunno.. but I remember this discussion occuring before

Yes and No.
From the Solo Rulebook, section 13, Stock Category:
Option package conversions may be performed between specific vehicles of a particular make and model, but only between configurations from within a particular model year. Such conversions must be totally complete and the resultant car must meet all requirements of this section.
So, you would have to build a 100% complete Si. All badging, interior trim, suspension, engine, etc must be Si. And this would only work on hatches, as the Si was not offered in coupe/wagon/etc.

oh well. there goes that idea. i'm running a dx in hs...where the si is too. plus they just mooved e-stock vw gti's into hs too. i'm done and the season hasn't started yet.
yeah.. it kinda sucks.. the GS-R had a similar problem with the Type R in G Stock. I'm now starting to beat the back markers of the Type R group, so I don't feel too helpless against them anymore.. But luckily for me, they're bumping the Type R (and WRX) out to D Stock.
Former H Stock cars kinda got shafted by the re-org.. but at least they pulled the new Mini back out! One of those things showed up at a local event a while ago, and it was quite quick..

wow, i forgot about the gs-r and the type-r being in gs last year. could've answerd my own question. thanks for the info.
yea, we're gettin all of whats left over (as usual). i may have to get those H&R's sooner than i thought and get the hell out of stock. even though i don't wanna go back to sts, my car is a good candidate for the class and we're allowed up/back dating. well see how the season pans out.
