JDM h23 vtec into 3rd Gen?
ive got a '88 2.0si and wanting to put in the JDM h23a. From my research it will fit, but i need motor mounts. My problem is i cant find any motor mounts for 3rd gen ludes at all. i was curious about what im missing here, is it nessicary to buy the engine with the motor mounts included, or can i get the motor mounts seperate, or do i even need any? will my engine even fit.
Hit me back with your knowledge.

I'm actually thinking about the same thing also, I have an '88 2.0s and the damn carbureutors have me stump and mad. I remember there was a user how had swapped in the h series engine into his 3rd gen also maybe he can chime in. I totally forgot his username though...
In order to swap a H series motor into a 3rd gen you will need custom motor mounts. Place racing used to make a kit, but they are now out of business. These motor mounts are around, but impossible to locate for sale I promise. So, that means they will be quite expensive to have made. Once you have the motor mounts, you will need custom axles as well. These still can be found, but at $150+ an axle...
For information about the swap visit http://www.teaminterlude.net They have an actual swap info with a how too. It includes things like how to wire it up with a wiring harness, the need for a 4/5th gen shifter and cables, and all kinds of other information. Its very good, interesting and the writeup is by a guy whos 3rd gen h22 has more HP than anyone could need. Note: theres more than 1 h22 3rd gen over there. Usernames: IMA2NR, Daily Interlude
Located on preludepower.com (a 3rd gen 88-91 friendly site) is also a writeup by Afterburners, but its much more difficult to follow.
GL, and I would look into the h22 over the h23vtec...

I don't think we should say this... H23a1 is know for spinning rod bearings... But the H23A VTEC should theoretically have the thicker mains(55mm) to handle the stress of high revs better...

oh man, well good thing i kept researching, from what i read, a custom motor mount from a company that doesn't exsist anymore might be a pain to find, im looking at alot more then what i wanted to spend. thanks for all your help.
