Best engine for 94 ex
Hey guys I dont know much about hondas but I guess if I did I would not be on here asking questions. I have heard that the best thing to do for a honda if you a willing to spend the time and money is to swap the engine out. Well I need to ask the question of what is the "best" engine to swap the stock one out with? I also need to swap the tranny from a to m. Also where is a good place to get the engine and tranny? 1994 Accord EX vtec 4cl. Thanks and sorry for asking the question that has been probably asked the most.
If I were you, I'd go with a JDM H22 type S, those are higher compression than regular non type S to squeeze out a couple more horses, + a few more differences, LSD transmission, you'd be making around 210-220 at the flywheel
I'd suggest getting the ECU to match, but I'm not sure what it is, I have more experience with USDM H22s.
I'm sure someone else will add more helpful info., I'm just trying to get the ball rolling for you

if he were to do this, he'd have to convert his entire car to obd2, which would be one of the biggest pain in the asses in world...i really don't see why you'd go with the type s for an extra 2 grand either...
the most popular engine swap for accords is either the h22 or h23...the h22 is a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder dohc vtec motor that revs to 7200 (7400 jdm) making 190 hp (200 jdm) and 156 lb/ft (160 jdm)...the h23 is a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder dohc non-vtec motor that revs to 6700 rpm's making 160 hp and 156 lb/ft tourque...
it really depends on what you want out of your car to determine which motor is best for you...the h22 is not as boost friendly as the h23 or original f22 if that is the direction you want to go...however, the h22 is a good platform to start with if you want an all motor setup that makes respectable power...
good luck
