Default doing some research on tranny's and have a few questions

i am looking for a cable tranny that will bolt up to a 94-95 gsr (b18c1) motor so i can put it into my crx. i found these three tranny's listed in the search, but don't know what any of them go to or what the differences are. any info will be appreciated. thanks

S1, J1 or YS1

also, which tranny(s) come with an lsd already installed?

if you're getting a cable VTEC tranny, you'll want to make sure it's EXACTLY one of the following:

JDM:

Y1--came with optional factory LSD
YS1--rare instances had factory LSD
S1--NO LSD

USDM:

YS1--The ONLY one which will work well with VTEC is the 92-93 GSR tranny. They usually go for about $600 (cheapest) and up, be prepared to pay thru the nose. ANY other USDM tranny is from the LS engine and is pretty tall gearing, not really any fun for a VTEC engine. Great mileage tho.

Note: There is also a USDM S1 tranny, it too came from b18a-equipped integras. Be careful. From the looks of it, you're looking for a cable VTEC tranny with LSD. Best option would be to look for a Y1 with LSD, they're not the easiest to come by but they're relatively easy. By getting a Y1 you're setting yourself up to acquire LSD (and the early cable JDM trannies had a gear-type/maintenance free style, they switched to clutch-type LSD with the hydro trannies), as well as guarantee it's a JDM tranny, therefore VTEC fun will soon follow.
