hey guys, its time for an oil change
I am just wondering what in your opinion would be a good oil to use for my accord? Like topic says its got 157,000 miles (253,000kms) on my 1991 auto accord, I heard Valveline Maxlife is a good way to go? Also what thickness? Thanks!

Just stay with whatever oil you used. As long as you change it every 3000 miles depending on how hard you drive it you should be good. I also use 10W30 on my car cuz that was recommended by OEM and it has 178000 miles on the motor.
I would not go straight to synthetic if this is your goal. Synthetics can clean out grime and junk so well that oil leaks can occur where the grime was sealing up the leaks at before the switch.
As for my accord , the first oil change I gave it at 147k miles (when i first got it) I used synthetic blend castro (just because i was to lazy to drive to get synthetic blend mobil 1). I'm gonna try this a couple of times then go from there, hoping for no leaks.

I was using Mobil 1 full syn. on a 170k motor, I don't know what it had before, but I trusted this oil and made the uneducated purchase. Good oil, bad motor for it though. Valve cover gasket leaked as well as the spark plug tube seal, did the VCG and the upper spark plug tube seals. Hopefully that solved it, because I don't want to go back in there to do the lower seals.
Now I plan to use Mobil clean 7500 synthetic blend, but I will still change it every 3-4k. Hopefully that fixes stuff for now, till I get my H22.

How long after the usage of sythetic did it start leaking?
