'94 Accord DX 2.4 doesn't want to start all the time. Hesitates for a few seconds and smooths out... I can't figure out what is wrong. I have to make sure I'm giving it gas when I turn the key because if it does act up on me and I let it die, it is hard to start back up. The engine just keeps turning over.
My battery is not draining so I do not think it is the starter. I have recenty had the head gasket removed, but it was acting up once or twice before that. I regularly change my oil/filter and air filter.. but, I'm not so sure the last time I changed my fuel filter.
The thing is, it doesn't act up any other time. Only when I first start it, and only for a few seconds before it smooths out. It's weird, usually it starts ok. It usually gives me problems if it has warmed up and turned off earlier. Like when I go in a store. It doesn't hesitate when I give it gas going down the road, or when I decelerate.
That's what is throwing me off. I live in florida so it doesn't get cold.
Also, it is not my.. um.. forgot the name for it.. fuel pump relay? I hear it click every time I turn the ignition switch. I'm afraid it could be a few hundred dollar fix. I hope it isn't because I'd rather spend that money on a new suspension and tires. Have you ever had a similar problem?
P.S. 190,000 miles and going strong. Any ideas? Thanks

sounds like fuel pump or pressure regulator. My 92 was doing that, turned out to be the fuel pump. (inside gas tank)
