GC Tophats compatibility problems with OEM Strut Bar: What Bars will fit?
Wassup guys/gals. I'm in a dilemma rite now. I'm went to install my GC tophats, but took a good look at the clearance of the OEM strut bar from the strut tower area... the tophats will be too tall to clear the bar. Who has tophats on their ride? I'm looking into getting an aftermarket strut bar, but I'm debating what brand, due to the clearance issue. Anybody who's encountered this problem in the past... please help a brotha out. What bar are you running?
Thanks,
Nick

I'm using the extented tophats on my hatch, and my oem si bar no longer works. However, pretty much any aftermarket bar will work, it just has to bolt to the shock studs, instead of the actual tower like the oem bars do.

i'm sure you've seen that style before... e.g. dc sports style...
those bolt to the shock mounts instead of the oem spot.

The best strut bar to use would probably be a Neuspeed one. They bolt to the UCA studs instead of the shock top hat studs, or strut bar studs. The major benifit of the Nuespeed bar is that its a solid piece with no adjustable crap that compromises the function of the part...
