The asphalt ate my bike!!!!!!!
Learn from my mishap....carry a small, maybe 3" x 3" piece of thin wood with you on your bike.
Today when I came out of the gym my bike was lying on its side. The freaking asphalt basically melted from underneath the kickstand. There was a 3" deep hole where the kick stand just sunk into the ground. My 1 week old helmet was on the helmet lock and got nice a scratched up. Luckily nothing major happened to the bike besides some light rash and a tiny crack.
At first I was thinking man I'm such an idiot, I must have parked it at a bad angle, or maybe some *** hat came by, or a gust of wind. NOPE!!!!!
Beware....parking lots are hungry!

I'd get that helmet checked out before using it again. Also, when I took MSF about 4 years ago, they told us that it could happen and to carry a "coaster" w/us.
