Default Upgrading to gsr brakes

Oka so i have a 92 civic cx and im looking to upgrade to gsr brakes all around.Heres the setup i found locally.Includes everything also front and rear sway bars.I was wondering if ss brake lines are worth it? i always hear about them braking but in the end its just steel wrapped around a brake line to protect it against road debri right?.Anyways i plan on getting brembo blankes all around and also wondering if i need to buy a 40/40 prop vavle for the rears.Maybe even a good time to upgrade bushings?

It's easiest to upgrade your bushings now since everything will be out of the car. Personally I would go with new Moogen/OEM trailing arm bushings, and LCA bushings. It's probably much cheaper to just buy new rear LCAs that buy all 6 bushings separately and then pay someone to press them in. FYI: Here is some great info on TA bushings (includes a "clocking" demo for lowered cars)...

If your thinking about Poly bushings, prepare to spend a **** load of time burning out all your old bushings. Doesn't seem worth it to me, but what do I know. Also, you probably don't want poly trailing arm bushings. Their function has been under debate for several years. It is a know fact that they cause binding and bump steer in the rear end, but all the ill effects are still unknown...

You definitely want the 40/40 prop valve for your integra brakes. Otherwise, your rear brakes won't be doing as much work as possible. From the pics, it looks like it's included.

As for the Master cylinder & brake booster, I would get them, but sell them on eBay or something. Use the money to buy yourself a new master cylinder from a 91 Civic EX 4 door. That MC will bolt directly onto your existing booster, and is the proper size for a NON ABS integra system (15/16"). The major benefit is that you won't have to bend/flare any brake lines either. It is a direct bolt on to your civic, and it would be brand new ($145 at HondaAutomotiveParts.com).

There has been a bit of discussion about the SS lines. The steel braids aren't their to protect the line from debris, they are their to keep the line from expanding. The main problem is that dust & dirt get between the braids, and wear on the inner Teflon line. This can be prevented by purchasing SS lines that have an outer coating (over the whole SS braid). The only brands that I know of that make these high quality lines are Neuspeed (bright yellow coating), and StopTech (clear coating). These are the only lines I would consider purchasing for my street car, since brake lines are seldom inspected on daily drivers...

As for the whole GSR brake & sway-bar setup, I have the exact same deal on my 94cx and I love it. The only thing I don't have is the 10.2" front brakes. Those are only necessary if you get a larger DOHC motor. The extra weight of those motors up front actually shifts your brake balance rearward. That can cause rear tire lock up (which is bad). Adding the 10.2" front brakes shifts the balance forward, and that's why only the DOHC civics come with 10.2" front rotors (unless they have ABS since that's a whole different story). I'm holding off on the front discs until I get a DOHC (If you don't do the front discs right away, you don't need to swap Master cylinders either)...
