Default Valve lash

For a b series vtec it calls for 7 on intake 8 on exhaust. Would there be a benifit of running a tighter clearence i.e. 6 on in 7 on ex?

but in theory wouldnt that increase lift and advance timing which would transalte to HP? why would honda spec make int side tighter then ex? becasue it advances and adds lift to the intake cam?

Thses adjustments might be too minute to even make a difference, but hey thats what this place is here for right?

the exhaust gets hotter than the intake..hence looser on the ex.
dont mess with that..specs are for a reason..look for power elsewhere.

theoretically there is power there, but the question is it worth it, valve train damge can be fatal. keep it in spec.

i dont see a problem if you motor is clayed...but i thought about this some more, and i guess it would be the same thing as just using your cam gears....

clayed?mmm. that would not really be the problem.by you tightening the clearance your really not adding that much lift at all...think about it..

without getting into it, what the guy above said is the reason.
