Got the car running good as hell, pulls strong as ****, but i can't stay in vtec when i shift. I haven't tryed to lower my vtec xover b/c when i t was at 5500 it bogged too much engaging. Now i have vtec at 6000 rpms and high to low at 5900 B/C when high to low was at 5400 it bogged too much when i shifted (banging gears). I guess my question is, is there anything else i can try to adjust so that when i shift the car stays iN VTEC??any help appreciated!!

Sounds like you need to increase your rev limiter, on my b16a vtec is at 6400, redline is 9800, your bogging issue may be related to not having enough compression for those cams also what transmission are you using?

I know for a fact that bogging isn't from the cams, everyone has bogging issues if the lobes are too big for your vtec xover, but really it's not bogging anymore it's just since vtec is at 6 grand i drop out of it when i shift thats all.
Oh i have a gsr tranny.

That's why your car drops out of vtec. GSR tranny always drops below 5500 rpm. If you vtec engagement is higher then that, that's where your losing power. To fix that problem you will have to get a b16 or 18c5 tranny or rev higher.

isn't the high to low adjustment for that though isn't that the setting on the vafc for staying in vtec?? What exactly does that setting do anyone? anyone ? bueler?
call me dumb, but assuming the VTEC was set on a dyno, and you know its at the optimal point dropping out of it is really just a matter of a sound change. If it makes more power at 5500 on the primary's then so be it. If you are making more power there than if you have the VTEC engaged making less, the bottom line is still that you have more power. I do agree though that a different trans would probabbly help you out, or raise the rev limit, if the head is built to handle it.

I'm not really understanding what was said about having the same power at 5500, and it's just a sound. If that was the case i wouldn't be saying anything, the primary lobes are stock size, the vtec lobes are rediculous vtec engages and the car hawls ***. Power is definately not anywhere near the same, not on any car iv'e been in. Lets's put it this way when my car hits vtec at full throttle it's like hitting boost my wheels just spin, 2nd gear they chirp just from vtec being engaged!!!
