VAFC 2: Types of Vtec
I searched.. yes I did. No answer. maybe I didn't describe the search but I did it. So here goes.
The only reason I installed the VAFC 2 AGIAN was to be able to set the vtec crossover at a higher setting so I would not be in vtec the whole time on my road trip. Now, I'm just wondering tho (since partially bored and interested) what the different types of vtec do. There are 3 types: HIGH, MEDIUM AND LOW RPM selections. What do each effect. Does the HIGH setting set default corrections for high rpm? Etc?

Pg. 49 of the Instruction Manual answers your question.
I have the manual. And I have looked it up on that page. Still doesn't make sense to me. I mean, if you set the vtec to 5600 then its in all the vtec set points. High, med. and low. High is from 3000 to 7000. Med. form 3000 to 6000 and low is from 2000 to 6000. Hows that help?

I am lost....why would you be in VTEC your whole trip if stock vtec is 5500.....(give or take)?

B16 tranny+90mph = VTEC @ 5500rpm
B16 tranny+90mph = VTEC @ 5500rpm
Because I have a GSR. 80 mph in 5th = 4000 rpm. 100 mph in 5th = 5000 rpm. Going to AZ. I have a tendency to go fast. VETC in my car is 4950 rpm (give or take). If I am going over 100.. then I am in vtec. I am not about to go to AZ from CA at 80. Most of the time I go over recommended. Just wanted vtec to not even be close. For those short sprints.. I won't be in vtec a 5600... at least not for long.

Wow, it won't hurt you to be in VTEC for small "sprints" at a time. It might even be good for you.
