So i got this empty shell and i got this motor 2 pass smog... im wondering if i can use the old wire harness or do i have to get the 96-98 wire harness motor is non v-tec also im going to have to bolt on a 91 si tranny on a "L3 tranny" could i use the old 91 axles or do i have to get the 96-98 axles?? Thnx 4 ur help

 

You will need to reuse the stock 91 engine harness. If the car is DPFI then you will need to use the stock 91 DPFI intake manifold on the Y7 motor or convert to MPFI. I'm not up on all the CA smog rules, but I was under the assumption that if you were to use a newer motor that the electronics also had to match. Meaning that you would need to convert the car to OBD2A. If that's the case, then I would reconsider your options because it's a lot more trouble than it's worth...

 

i have the pigtail and the ecu came with the motor...but i dont have a wire harness yet

its a 91 4 door civic 96 sohc non vtec engine 91 Si L3 tranny .... WIRE HARNESS???
