When car got painted, they painted Part that key goes into. Any tips on how to take off paint there?

Default When car got painted, they painted Part that key goes into. Any tips on how to take off paint there?

I was wondering if any of you paint gurus had any tips on taking out paint covering where the key inserts into(the metal part). It really erks me that he painted the door handles and didnt ocver up the key hole part. Any Tips fellas.

just keep poking it with your key it will eventually come off

Yeah, and that'll cause everything to chip around the key hole. Just take some paint thinner and dab some on the tip of a rag and gently rub the paint off, but make sure you don't get the thinner on the rest of the car.

Tape around the area then put paint thinner

take off the interior door panel, remove the lock cylinder, clean off the paint, reinstall everything.

I don't think paint thinner will work. When I painted my car there was some overspray on a window that wasn't budging with paint thinner. I used some left over reducer and it came off after some scrubbing.
