VTEC not loud after gutted cat?
Sup guys, I recently gutted my stock cat on my 00 coupe with a jdm b16a. This I did only temporarily while my 2.5 carsound comes in from Kteller4.com. My question is why isn't my vtec as loud as it used to be? Before you could here the transition, now you can barely hear it. My car hasn't gotten much louder either after the gutted cat. It's like my engine is really quite now, can barely hear my intake. Any suggestions?
You're hearing more of the sound of the exhaust now. After my friend gutted his cat on his ex you could no longer hear when VTEC was kickin in. Nothing to worry about. The louder the exhaust system (and the more free flowing in most cases), you won't hear the VTEC changeover as well.
thats weird....when i rolled a gutted cat on my R it was way louder when in vtec....it was muffled with the hi-flow cat i later installed....

ummm..B-series VTEC is on intake and exhaust buddy.

any suggestions? I mean it works, the transitions smoother, just not as loud anymore (don't have that rip to it, the vtec is mellower) Not a real big deal, just wondered.
