How much to fill in Side Molding on a civic?????
I like the clean look so i decided to take my side moldings off and get then filled in.......I know a guy that works at a great body shop and i usually give him the price of what i want done.... how much would this cost if i went to another shop. i just need to know on average how much am i looking to pay??? thanks in advance pics would be great also
depends on whether you want it done the right way or not. when you say "filled" that mean just filled with bondo? if so...this is EASILY something anyone with the slightest amount of technical skills could do....i wouldnt waste taking it to a shop. this way will crack out sooner or later...
if you want to do it the right way and have strips of sheetmetal welded in place of the mouldings, i would say somewhere around $2-300. MAYBE. im not really sure...but doing it this way takes skill, tools, time, and patience. all things that equal $$$!
good luck either way

i had it done back in the day on my old 93 coupe for $100, but i was also getting a paint job with them at the same time. they used some kind of bondo with fiberglass hair in it, it lasted a good year, year and a half, and little by little it started developing little hair line cracks where the bondo met the metal door.

Agreed. The main problem is on some hondas the lines dont match up as in if you drew a line to follw the contour of the door the lower side is more indented into the car.
