So you lowered your ride, what about the roll centre?

Looking through the latest SCC mag, they talk about fixing the roll centre on lowered cars.
For 4G Civic and CRX, the only company that makes a ball joint that will fix this issue is J's racing. Here's the link to it.

I think US $270 for these is a bit pricy. So, has any one been bold enough to try to fabricate this?

WOW, I especially like how they forget to mention things like camber, camber gain, caster, ackermen, and bump-steer. What the hell would happen to all of those if you were to extend the length of your knuckles (that's essentially what this product does).
Also I like how they conveniently forget to mention that the shock/spring is attached to the LCA. If you were to add that extended ball-joint, it would only lower your car more, and bring your UCA dangerously close to the shock tower. The only way you could use that product properly, would be in conjunction with coil-overs or coil-over sleeves...
They also forget to mention that your ground clearance will suffer as a result. It will put your LCAs that much closer to the ground in relation to your tire.
If you are going to do something like that, you better do your math first, and maybe experiment on a mock-up to measure things like bump-steer etc...

looking at the pictures, the math checks out ok, but I can't get my head around it.
I'll have to create some models and see how that works. I'm sure J's racing did all that but just so that I can sleep at night....

Well I can tell you for sure that those pictures do not represent honda's suspension when you lower it.
Also, Don't be so sure that a company has done any extensive research. They want to sell YOU parts, and thats all there is to it. I personally feel that if they had done the proper research, their item description would be about 5 times longer and 10 time more detailed...
