tdc on a d-series
i have a d16y5, and i dont remember tdc for each of the valves/cylinders or whatever, i know that when the crank is straight up that is cylinder 1 right? and then from there i dont know. 90 degrees counter clockwise is what cylinder? straight down is what cylinder? and then from there 90 degrees counter clockwise is which cylinder. to make it easier, what order are the cylinders at tdc? i though 1, 3, 2, 4, but im thinking its wrong, so can anyone help please
I just adjusted my valves and learned this. "up" is tdc for 1, turn counter-clock 90 degrees and #3 is at tdc, turn another 90 and that is for 4, and another is for 2
So order is 1-3-4-2.
So order is 1-3-4-2.
yea it goes 1-3-4-2, in 90 degree increments on the cam gear, beginning with cyl 1. dont go by just the crank pulley being up for cyl 1, because its in the same position for cyl 4 tdc. the crank pulley moves 180 for every 90 of the cam gear. another way to check is to pop the cap off the distributor and see what position the rotor is in. starting from bottom left, they are 1-3-4-2.
