Default B18C5 block, crank, and crank gear... OBD1 oil pump ok????

Here is the question. I went to the acuraparts247.com website and checked the diagram but i have one more question.

Is it ok to use an OBD1 oil pump with this setup. I have eliminated the CKP sensor for this will be and OBD1 engine. Do I have to run the ODB1 crank gear or will the one I have be sufficient? Thanks for the help

I have #15 and #16 currently.

i am sure you can use the obd1 oil pump and crank gear. i used an obd2 one on my 95 ls block. no harm there. are you going to a vtec pump? if so be sure you get the correct timing belt, etc. if gsr is your choice. peace and good luck

you can positively use a obdI oil pump on a itr block. You'll have to change the gear also for the oil pump to a obd1 gear......if you need a gear i have one.......

Sorry to wake up a dead post but I wanted to make sure this was clear for anyone trolling old threads for correct info.

OBD1 pump, needs OBD1 crank gear
OBD2 pump can run either crank gear (with OBD1 wiring) or OBD2 crank gear only (on OBD2 wired engines)

The OBD2 gear will rub the OBD1 pump.

If you use an OBD-1 ECU and lower timing belt cover (or hacking it up or no cover at all), you can use an OBD-1 P72 oil pump.

The OBD-1 oil pump doesn't have a way to mount the CKF sensor and the OBD-1 lower timing belt cover won't clear the CKF sensor.
