Engine to tranny mesh or mess

I just put a d16z6 into my 95 d15 DX car will the d15 tranny work with the new engine?

Yes, any D series transmission will work with any D series motor. This is the same with B series, H series, etc.

For example, I'm running the d16z6 in my EJ1. I'm currently doing a transmission swap on it, I'm using a JDM d15b s20 transmission on it and it's going to work just fine.
