Default CRX Different Model Transmissions??

I have a 1988 CRX DX.

Will an HF Transmission bolt up?

are there any differences.

bolt up just fine. use an 88 though

88, 89, 90+ all use different clutches.

88 has a smaller flywheel and 21 spline input shaft on the tranny.
89 has a smaller flywheel and 20 spline input shaft
90-91 has a larger flywheel and 20 spline input shaft.

my #'s may be off but the same idea applies.

its not the easiest thing in the world, but if u have replaced axles before than this isn't much more complicated.

- tranny mounts (dont forget to support engine w/ something!)
- starter
- clutch cable
- rev sensor
- speed sensor
- tanny bolts.

i just thought i should mention this, since nobody else did. the hf tranny is one of the longest geared trannys you can imagine. this will completely kill your accelleration, but it will give you amazing gas milege.

exactly why I want to do it. I drive 150 miles everyday. highway 5th gear miles.

HF 5th 70mph 2100 rpm
DX 5th 70mph 3200 rpm
