Hava fun getting that monstrosity of a transmission to fit! Not only will a typical B-series mount kit NOT work. But it is likely the transmission itself won't fit. So as a best case scenario, you are going to be doing LOTS of custom fabrication to drop in that automatic. As a worst case scenario, well, it just won't be possible. Is it really worth it to you just so that you don't have to shift?

What does living in the city have to do with anything...I live in philadelphia and drive a 5spd with no problem. It may suck in traffic but you learn to live with it.

There was an article on honda tuning where a guy took a 00 si (b16) and made it automatic using a GSR tranny. You may want to look into that. It was May 04. Blue Si.

That was pretty childish threatening me over nothing but a stupid post. Try driving through the manayunk and roxborough neighborhoods in philly....There are hills here that are probably just as steep. We have trains, bikes, etc here too. I am not going to argue with you anymore since arguing over the internet is pointless.

To the original poster...I apologize if my response offended you but installing an auto trans on a b series is more work than it is worth. Like was mentioned you may want to look into a d series if you want to stay auto.

This is not even going to be the same thing as dropping an automatic B-series transmission into a CRX. The 2000 SI is based off the Integra and will accept anything from an Integra with no problems. But the 1988-1991 CRX requires a mount kit for ANY B-series swap. And these mount kits only work with manual transmissions. Furthermore, the engine bay on a CRX is quite a bit smaller and likely can't accommodate that huge B-series automatic transmission.

OMG THIS GUY IS RETARDED!! He wants to start an e-thug fight with you because you're city doesn't have enough hills in it to make it hard to drive a 5 spd!!!!!!!! I had to seriously hold back from laughing at work. It was really, really hard.

This guy has a serious insecurity problem if he's gonna tell you to move to Cali and get beat up because you mentioned driving a 5 spd in Philly is no problem.

MAN hes got some kind've hidden grudge. Maybe he just has a small ***** and is very defensive. Thats my theory.

HAHAhAHa El Vappypoo please ban him, nobody even antagonized him on this thread LOL he posts like that on all his threads, stupid e-thug.

I never roll back on any hills in SF .. because i know how to drive, but having a good clutch means it won't ever slip on you regardless of your driving.
SF hills in the rain with bad tires is a trick though, even an automatic would have problems if it loses traction.
Learn to drive stick, its just so much better, I hate not having the control a manual tranny gives you. You'll get useto it.

Default Re: auto b16 tranny I have the computer and OBD1 setup for your swap

I put an Auto in my 97 civic with a B16.

It was an absolute pain in the ***......
But I figured everything out....

If you need any info on how to do it....just ask.

For my ECU setup I used a P75 with a special OBD2A to OBD1 Conversion Harness from Boomslang that also tied in the 94 LS TCM. For Vtec Function I used a Apexi VAFC.

I just converted my auto to manual. So if you need the Setup for the computer...let me know.

I'm not sure how much I want for it all..but here is what I paid.
Auto P75 .....................................125
Boomslang Conversion Harness.....250
94 LS Auto TCM ...........................100
VAFC ..........................................190

Send me an offer

you also might want to get a JDM GSR Auto tranny. It will handle the power from a B16 or LSVtec better than the USDM LS Auto tranny...also better gearing.

I just converted a B18B LS block and auto Tranny into a LSVtec auto.

Mounts are another thing all together. Me and the guys from Big Al's Muffler Shop were fabricating a lot of welded mount designs.

wow some E thugging going on here i'm kinda scared but i'll post anyway. PS yea hills in manyunk can suck thats why you need to take something with lil low end

My buddy has a b18b with LS auto in his 5th gen he never saw it before and wanted to see if it worked well it did was total bitch and barely fit. how many cars you know with not only a B swap but an auto swap pretty neat eh?

we got smaller bays to deal with and i remember reading about someone trying it with b16 and LS auto in a rex never got done he quit.

I think it can be done but will be insane to do and not worth it in the end start with an auto car.

Yeah on my 97 it was a D16Y8 with an auto before......But I had to beat the Crap out of the Passenger side inner frame to make room for that beast of a Tranny Ls Auto.
