Accord Air Conditioning Question
I have a '94 Accord DX with 101K on it, and the A/C doesn't blow very cold. I took it to Goodyear and they said it was about 1/2 lb. low on refrigerant and that's was all.
Will the system being down just 1/2 lb. cause the air to blow just barely cool and not cool the interior down? thanks!
Oooops, forgot to add that last year a friend put 1.5 cans of 134A in, and it hasn't worked that good since. Could he have damaged the compressor or something else??

I have a 94 EX with 122k on the body and I just replaced my radiator a couple days ago and when I did I found out the reason why my a/c wasnt so cold is because the motor on my condenser fan for my a/c was bad. You might want to get that checked out.
Dispite what some people in here will say, R143a sucks ***** compared to R12. 1994 accords use R134a and unfortunately for all of us, it has about 10% less cooling capacity on the same amt of charge that R12 does.
I have a 1994 LX coupe with a sunroof and 131K on the odo. Every honda tech I have talked to says the same thing.
the sunroof causes the problem because it is introduces more heat into the car.
I have had my A/C system tested and it is properly charged and functions as it should. When I get up to hwy speeds, I get nice cold air but when you are sitting in stop and go for a while on a really hot day cooling performance is not what it would be if the system was using R12.
Also r134a systems are much more sensitive to the amt of charge in the system being low even a little will cause cooling performance to suffer.
